My New Life Here in University of Malaya

Yes, I received and accepted an offer from University of Malaya.

Early bird get worms but not me.

Which is the university that rank first in our country.

I was brainwashed by my friends that this uni is dropping to a lower level compared to a few fast developing university such as UKM which is the uni she's going in.

Well, in my point of view, I quite agree with this : UM isn't widely promote on the internet, I mean really really wide. I couldn't access much information about UM.
Maybe it is just me......

Anyway, I took the offer.

It is MY university now. Don't talk bad about it. :P

So, on the 1st of September, I registered to my dorm which we usually call it KK( Kolej Kediaman) around 10a.m.
My KK is KK8.

Kolej Kediaman Kinabalu, Eighth Residential College. 马大第八宿舍.

Front sight of the college with the foyer and office right up the stairs.

I have to say I felt quite disappointed. I thought the maximum person per room will be two but 3 of us have to share a not-so-big room. But the roommates that assigned with me are so nice that I felt 3 person per room is not as bad.

Apparently we didn't have much time to evaluate for the first week cause we were having our orientation week a.k.a Minggu Haluansiswa (MHS). After I claimed my room keys and settle down my luggage I was to gather with other freshies at a hall. And the nightmar.. I mean MHS started.

We were divided into 12 groups/sel and introduced to PM (Pemudahcara Mahasiswa) that will help us throughout the week and assigned group PM that will help us to settle and adapt.

They helped us to settle the documents that we have to submit, organised the program we have to attend.
Slept at most 2 hours a day although I know they get to sleep when we were attending some programs. Lol.
But I really appreciate all they have done.
Especially to those who insisted not to smile or laugh during the whole week.
*Our KK's PMs are awesome*

I admit, it was a nightmare to me in the beginning. I sat on the floor for so long that my ass hurt! It was literately pain in the ass.

But like I said, just the beginning. I adapted it quick.

I was actually having fun with my group members. I was so lucky that I was team up with them during this whole week!

They are all Malays but the race doesn't count, it's the people that matters.

They are people that I could spend all day long and never feel bored. The spirit of team, the spirit to do all the cheers, the spirit to do all the crazy things together. (Crazy thing such as one of the girl*Shima* was fawn over a PM, lol... )

I was bless to have them as my team.

I even felt sad on the last day. I was having high fever that day though. Maybe I was insane enough to feel sad for the ending of the week..

We built relationship as whole, not only with my own team but all the newbies and even with the PMs. We bonded and we stay together.

PS: International students do not need to attend MHS and usually stay in hostel with better facilities, probably not 3 persons per room. So no worries if you are checking out for intake or inbound/outbound programs to University of Malaya.
